Where I Came From

I got into digital when SEO was still a fringe idea, when most businesses thought their website was a brochure and Google was something you checked on your desktop twice a day. I grew up in this industry. I learned it by doing it — for real clients, with real stakes.

One of the defining chapters of my career was at AutoTrader Canada. I was there during the years that mattered most — when a print-based automotive directory made the bet on digital and transformed itself into something completely different. That company eventually sold for $750 million. I watched that transition from the inside, and I helped make it happen.

After AutoTrader, I was at Yellow Pages (Mediative) where I built and delivered national digital training programs across Canada for years. Not just consulting — teaching. Showing people at companies coast to coast how digital search actually works and what to do about it. That experience — standing in front of rooms full of smart, skeptical people and making the case for why this stuff matters — shaped how I think about everything I do now.

I eventually founded Unwired Web Solutions from scratch and built it into a full-service digital agency. Over the years, we’ve done enterprise-level SEO for clients like StarTech.com, Honda, Ford, Canadian Black Book, and Metro Plus Health in New York. We’ve run franchise SEO programs for Skedaddle Wildlife, Truly Nolen, Handyman Connection, Weedman, Bin There Dump That, Junk-King, and more. We’ve worked with education clients in Canada and the US. We’ve been to MozCon. We’ve been recognized in Canadian SEO circles as people who know what they’re doing.

Why This, Why Now

The agency math doesn’t work anymore. What used to take a team of specialists days to produce — content, research, reporting, outreach strategy — AI can do in minutes. I’m not saying the work doesn’t require judgment. I’m saying the economics have fundamentally shifted, and pretending otherwise is a great way to be the last one to figure it out.

I’ve been down this road before. I watched print people refuse to believe digital was real. I watched digital people refuse to believe mobile mattered. Now I’m watching digital agency operators — good ones, experienced ones — refuse to believe AI changes the math on their business model.

It does. It changed mine.

So instead of defending a model that’s already losing, I’m building something new. I’m integrating AI into the way work gets done, rebuilding systems that are actually efficient in 2026, and documenting every step of it here.
